(Glasses: Gene Rogers Optical, Vest: F21, Skirt: F21, Rings: Random, Earrings: Vintage, Plant: Thirsty)

Still wearing this vest. totally rocks. Also got these earrings at a thrift shop and I decided they are my new favorite earrings.  I’m not much into earrings lately, but these are some sort of awesome southwestern tailgating mom meets Covenant armada armor. sick. AND, here’s another one of my new pair of glasses. I’m in love with them. I’m in love with all of them actually.

Also went as Dora the Explorer to a party last night. It was a much more popular costume than I had originally anticipated. Who knew children’s bilingual cartoons were so hip. Not THIS camper that’s for sure!!!

Optical Illusion

Let me preface this by saying, I’ve worn glasses since High School and really have never had that much desire to get contacts or Lasik. I believe glasses are the ultimate accessory. They have the ability to walk between the worlds of jewelry and make up and have the potential to transform with minimal to no maintenance.

So, I’m ALWAYS on the look out for sweet frames and sweet deals. And I think I found both and more in this little place in Austin. It’s called Gene Rogers Optical, and they have vintage lenses falling off the walls. They are this tiny family owned and operated store, and a lot of their vintage glasses are actually left over stock from their store from earlier decades. Their selection is incredible and the owners are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I ended up getting two pairs for my birthday. And then a few days later I came back with two frames I had bought at a yard sale, and had them put lenses in them for me. They do that even! So legit. Almost worth moving to Austin for… Almost.

I just need to find one more excuse…

I need to do an entire post dedicated to all the awesome thrift stuff I got in Austin, like this blouse. So ugly it's awesome. Who would’ve thought a Texas town could be so cool? I kid you not, it’s some sort of freakish Portland/Phoenix hybrid, where the cupcakes are good, the taco trucks are EVERYWHERE, and chips and salsa flow like water.

Just bought these nikes on sale. I love new running shoes. There’s something about them that get you all pumped up to go run… or at least to put an outfit together and jump off walls or something like that. Equally productive activities, I’m sure of it.

Have you made a million yet?

Currently moving from New York to somewhere to be determined. Giving away all your shit and living out of your car is really quite the cathartic experience. Now if only I could let go of my embarrassing Nelly habit. oh Nells, I just can’t quite you.
