Sugar, Spice, and bows!

I have always had a weak spot for the most girlie of dresses. Those pieces that as kids we'd play dress up with and dance around like Disney princesses or olympic ice skaters( I totally don't do that anymore...yeah). In later years (long long after those young dress up days...) I drooled in awe over the extravagantly clad Lolita dressers of japan in that famous Fruits photography book. I still feel like I need to get dressed up and have a tea party when I look at Lolita fashion. I'm excited that right now lots of girlie garments are coming out with this Japanese influence, and bows are on just about everything. I love it! The Japanese magazine Alice Deco a la Mode is full of this classic lolita look.
but they also have neat twists like this cute, modern, and vintage outfit. agh soo cute. The Christian Dior 2011 resort line was the aged up, vintage version of that classic japan street wear. Amazing, and full of those lovely shades of mint, peach, and powder pink.

Urges to dress like a cupcake are more and more frequent for me, but sometimes I just want to wear my same old jeans and tee... add a bow, and wow!! girlie-casual. wish I could afford this $225 exploding bow blouse from J-Crew.

same old sripes and sta...flowers

This spring I feel like I'm liking pretty much the same old lovely things. Stripes, denim, and flowers. I wanna say I'm putting them together in new and exciting ways, but...ehh. It's all I got right now.

I'm feeling kinda victim to current trends right now. But, what are you gonna do.

Just Do It!

So MY favorite short hair cut is Carey Mulligan, the girl who starred in An Education. Here is her with long hair and looking plain as ever.

And HERE, is her looking incredibly awesome in short hair.

Carey Mulligan in Vogue

Seriously, she is so effing cute with short hair. And a million times more legit. Plus, I love the kind of pouffier look, in the second short hair picture. AND, the curls in the Vogue shoot. Short hair is versatile too!

Anyway, do it! Do it! DO IT!

bless ths mess on my head...or rat nest

Barcelona is filled with beautiful women with great hair, and I am getting so close to hacking all my 3 year effort off to get a very European hair cut. I've been whining to Noel and Felicia, who both think I should just go for it, but I think I need to wait it out just a little longer. I know! I'm such a wuss! But until then here's what I got going on, a big ol' pile of ratting, HURRAY FOR BIG HAIR

I'm definitely not one of those ANTM type girls who cry over spilled hair, but I want to make good use out of this frizz ball on my head while I can. THEN I think I'm going to bleach the shit out of it in hopes of having white platinum, then I'll go for a full out pixie!

Tara got these amazing bootie shoes by We Who See the other day. The suede is super thick and they are just so soft and comfortable. Since she is so sweet she let me wear them to work right after she brought them home. I then told her I would buy them off her or she could give them to me since I am so infatuated with them. Apparently her generosity does not extend that far though.

Count down til midnight

So a bit ago I decided I didn't wear enough hair accessories. My hair styles usually have enough going on to keep me satisfied, but with a change of heart I've started a new collection. Along with rainbow mugs, lunch boxes, and music boxes, I'm trying to collect some interesting head pieces. For when I'm feeling close to nature, the Pocahontas in me comes out with my feathered head band. Let's not forget those nights when I need my 40's style dress shoes and gloves, I also now need my pretty little veil... that I paid way too much for at Urban. And if you didn't know, I also have a weakness for my catholic medallion's given to me by friends and family over the years. I wear my saint jude highlighted as my ultra-awesome head piece! And those handsome pair of heels are just some little oxfords that melted my heart and I needed to get. Signing out. My first real blog. -Tara
