nails

black beads on nails

crackle finish

faux-minx

I've been obsessing over nails again. The ultimate in being useless. I do my nails and watch back to back netflix crap, two useless activites killed with one stone. I've been way into this China Glaze halloween series, specifically the "Ick-A-Body," pictured on the far left above. (picture snagged from here.) It's a copper flat glitter in a sheer black and goes over dark blue teal like awesome sauce.

I'm also becoming enamored of the idea of gluing useless shit onto my nails, in order to prove my delicate feminine nature to the world. Yeah, the last part of that sentence is bull shit, but something in me always feels kind of guilty about spending so much time painting my nails. I should give it up, as there are way more important things to feel guilty about, like not cleaning my cat's litter box, or how there are so many starving children.

Anyway, back to nails. I'm also stoked about that crackle finish that OPI is coming out with, and kind of interested in these heat activated metallic things. Oh, the time I waste.

Inside the Lines

Teen Vogue - Dec 2009

Teeny bop vogue has some cute faces that I will def want to copy. I have had a big nice compact of yellow eyeshadows that I have worn only once- but to be fair, it starts to blend very easily into my skin tone. Last weekend I got MAC's eye primer, which I am pretty stoked about. It allows for truer colors, so I can pile on those eyeshadows and have them retain their vibrancy against my skin tone. It also keeps them from sliding around, which is a pretty lame problem of mine, since my face tends to get slicker than oil can henry. Humph.
BTW: there's a relatively
new MAC store in p-town that I never knew about. what?

About face

Came across UK cosmetics line Illamasqua. Why haven't I heard of this name before? I love when people can color outside the lines.

They have some great tutorial vids also. None of that stupid drawing on a paper face w/pics of products in containers. You know what I mean (ehem, cough, MAC)?
Oh, but speaking of: check this shiznit out -->

Ok, I'm still yo bitch, MAC.

Scratchy Scratchy

I totally get off on a really nice matte finish. Matte print photos look like money. Mac's matte lipsticks look like money. Have you seen that black Starbucks card? Black matte with gold embossed print. I even dig cars in primer, even though that don't look like money. And once upon a time I had 2 matte nail polishes. A dirty pewter-grey and a blue toned pink shell. I actually emptied those bottles with use, something I never do now days because... uh... Anyway, I've been seeing an exciting amount of matte nail polishes once again, which I've been wanting so bad it's retarded. I don't know why I've been holding out; it's not like it's going to break the bank. I wants some. Above is the dragon queen primping it up for Knock Out Cosmetics. They've got lots of colors, but a new "concrete" gray and "pool," a totally hot blue color, are really catching my eye. $19 a bottle. Oh wait. Maybe that's why I haven't bought any yet.

But then OPI has to come out with an entire line as well, including a sick ass green that goes by the name "Gargantuan Green." Shown above is their "Lincoln Park After Blah Blah, We Know, at Least it's Matte Now." I'm much more excited about the green, if you can't tell. They're cheap,($5 - $9) but I can't really find them anywhere except on ebay, and I just don't feel like making the effort to bid and then having to pay some stupid s&h on one measly bottle. Yes, I'm lazy AND cheap.

But what is REALLY freaking me out now is this shit. Essie "matte about you" claims to put a matte clear finish on top of any polish you have. For $10 I can have any matte color I want. OOOOOOooOOOOOO. Save meeeee.
I think I'm finally caving.

flashes of lashes

Felicia gave me the awesome feather eyelashes, but they're huge! I have yet to build the courage to wear them out and about.
