Tara and I were talking last night about how excited we are about Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland. Our family is kind of split down the middle, as far as opinions of Burton movies and Johnny Depp go, but Tara and I are avid believers (adulators?) and cannot wait.

Woke up late today. Barely enough time to run to the roof and take these in the dying sunlight. The only thing I hate about fall is the days getting shorter and shorter. This is one of my favorite necklaces ever, mama bought it for me and it was in pieces in a ziplock bag. So many of my favorite possessions have to do with my family.

I love the silhouette, the excess fabric, and the granny style in the second pic. Plus, the jacket in the first pic is incredible. It's like something you would wear traveling across the Scottish countryside. Very cool.

Peter and I spent a little bit of time today finding the pixie market shop in chinatown. It was the perfect weather for walking around, only too cold if you stop moving. I bought these shoes which are amazingly comfortable and decided to break them in immediately. I need instant gratification. And after I rummaged through every single item at the pixie market shop, we walked around and discovered Self Edge (where peter must buy his jeans) and this awesome fabric shop. Unfortunately, we went to grap a bite and when we got back it was closed. but i plan on returning to hunt for some awsome antique buttons to add to my ever growing collection.

Gone Hunting

Alright, so kind of funny showing a child's fashion pic, but I am in love with this shot from the kids' line at KENZO. Since I work with kids' clothes & design, I am constantly on the prowl for cool catalog approaches, and this is just too much. This European rustic hunt look topped off with two stuffed animal kills, is so silly, creative, fashionable, ingenious and quite honestly, pretty daring. Something we would never see here, in good ole usa.

New upcoming ad campaign for Oliver Peoples has me shocked that a hobbit could ever look so HAWT!!! I feel kind of wrong. Side note: a friend in LA just served Shirly Manson a Macciato the other day. NUTZZ.

By the time I remember to check pixie market, all the really friggin rad stuff is sold out. Then as I look through the lost opportunities, I get so angry and frustrated that I don't go back for another couple of weeks. Then finally, when I've calmed down, I check again just in time to see all the new friggin cool stuff just got sold out... it's a vicious vicious cycle...

Indecision

Which of these should I get for my office boots?


I'm leaning towards these Fossil "Allison" ones at the moment. Basic, but they have a wooden heel covered in the back with brown leather, and that little teeny platform. Cute!



These, by Very Volatile, have awesome heels. I am really liking that cone heel stuff. However, that particular cone heel is listed as 4 3/4" high, but piperlime also claims they have a 1" hidden platform. So, uh, I question the comfortability of them. And I just made a new word. Heeey, these babies would make me pretty tall, huh? I am always looking to gain some height...


These Lumiani "Madras" are plain basic suede. That cuff at the top looks kind of luxurious to me though. These would probably last me a while. I actually wore through the soles of my last black boots. I don't know; these heels are kind of boring. Oh, I am over these.


These are the "Ian" by Arturo Chiang. They have some very nice little details: doubled-over leather, cool stitching, little subtle pieces of hardware. Maybe I like these the best actually.
So what does everyone think?
