THE END IS NEAR

I'm currently obsessed with the idea of Apocalypse Fashion. I'm trying to put together a mash up of Zombie Apocalypse Fashion and it's proving more difficult than I originally imagined. But along those same lines, I've been possessed by the fantastical demon that is Gareth Pugh's spring 2010 rtw line. Someone called it "Apocalypse Princess," and it's beautiful. I love love love the first look with the white feathers. It's like an Angel of Death. So beautiful and so very strange.

I'm currently obsessed with lipsticks again. I go through phases. I like lipstick, then I don't, then I like lipstick again, then I don't. It's similar to my Good 'N Plenty phases. First I think the pink ones taste better, then I think the white ones taste better, then I think they taste exactly the same, but then I get an exceptionally good pink one! ohmygoodness

I got out of bed today to go to Strand Used Books to feed my sci-fi fluff need. Of course they didn't have what I was looking for and I left the store disappointed. I ended up going to my favorite fabric store and buying some buttons for a jean jacket I bleached forever ago and haven't gotten around to finishing. I love buttons. I'm currently obsessed with trying to find a way to make my most awesomest buttons into rings. I can't seem to find a quality band I could super-glue or cement these things onto. I need ideas.

So the other day I watched about 10 hours of Big Love. I'm still not sure how I feel about that show; either I love it or I hate it. Who knew I couldn't differentiate between the two? After 10 hours you'd think I would have a clue, but I don't. Most of the characters are annoying, frustrating, and have some major entitlement issues, but I'm still fascinated. Oh well...

So while I was watching all this Big Love, I started making this thing, which turned into what I'm calling a neck piece. I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I kinda like how it looks almost Egyptian, but I don't think it really "goes" with anything. At least now I know what happens when I'm left with a whole HBO television series, about 30 ft of rope, and a spool of copper wire.

I bought this jacket probably two years ago and never wore it. Until now that is. Now days I seem to wear it at least once a week. This always happens to me. I have clothes that lay sad and depressed in one of my chests until I dig it out and renew our relationship. I'm convinced you should never throw anything away. I still have things I'm ashamed I wore in high school, but I keep them in hopes of eventually falling in love again.

Tara and I were talking last night about how excited we are about Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland. Our family is kind of split down the middle, as far as opinions of Burton movies and Johnny Depp go, but Tara and I are avid believers (adulators?) and cannot wait.
